ELİF LERMİ BEKDEMİR

Physical Education Teacher

    ELİF LERMİ BEKDEMİR graduated from Istanbul Marmara University Vocational School of Physical Education and Sports, Department of Physical Education Teaching in 1996. She completed her training of General and Sports Massage (2005) and Life Coaching of Business and Human Relations (2011) at Prof. Dr. Ahmet Tuğrul Turgut Sports Medical Institute. She participated in the training on Disability Sports and Health; Adaptation in Games and Activities (2014), which was carried out within the scope of Erasmus intensive program. She served as an administrator on the Paralympic School Days project. In 2014, she was nominated for an award for her scientific work: “Analysis of the effects of the awareness development program for individuals with intellectual disabilities on the attitudes of secondary school students”. She completed her master’s degree in 2016 in the department of Physical Activity for the Individuals with Disabilities at Istanbul Gedik University with her thesis; “Analysis of the Participation of Students with Autism in Physical Education Course in an Inclusive Environment from the Point of View of Physical Education Teachers and Parents”. In 2017/2018, she served as a lecturer in the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Gedik University and taught the courses of Community Service Practices and Paralympic Olympics. Lermi is the first and only female rower to receive the 1992 TMOK “1992 Eftal Mogan Athlete of the Year” award. In addition to teaching physical education, she serves as an athlete, coach, and referee in the fields of rowing and sailing.
